Hi Don:
I did exactly the same thing as you described – but on Vista 64-bit. The game starts, shows Main Menu and even goes as far as the City View – BUT it does not see the mouse. Other keys work – TAB, SPACE, ENTER – but neither my USB wireless mouse, nor touchpad of the laptop can move the cursor.
Would really appreciate any piece of advice.

Oh, you got so screwed, situations like that piss me off. Just makes you want to go back and slap them in the face with the same sku’s codes showing, especially since she fought you so hard on it. She was clearly covering up for her lazy ass minimum wage lacky’s that couldn’t do a complete price change process completely and had left the tag on the shelf. GRRRRRR

My M1210 had a problem with the screen going blank a few months ago. Opening and shutting the lid seemed to sort the problem out. Then the problem seemed to go away after I turned the hibernation option off.

After a few months not blank screen problems my screen has gone off and I can only use the laptop if I connect it to my desktop screen (when is a portable not a portable? when you can’t move it to any location you want because the screen wont work!)

I don’t know what I should do to check whether of not it is the Inverter has gone. I have made sure that the screen resolution is 1280 x 800 and taken off the hibernation option.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated as I use this laptop a lot in my work which takes me around the country.

I can’t believe the manager just didn’t compare the PLU numbers on the bag and the tag. What a maroon!

Don, I suggest keeping the tag on the shelf so that others can receive the same discounted price. At some point that manager would have realized that the bag and the tag are for the same thing and probably post a tag for the higher price. Who’s to say what the correct price was. Maybe the till was wrong.

I think DELL really should pay us back for this or fix it. Someone should go to court.

It weird have done a clean install and hope it fixs it, but it might not as you have said.
